Declining costs and improving performance is fueling a surge in the construction of hybrid renewable energy mini- and microgrids worldwide, particularly in rural and otherwise remote areas where conventional, centralized power grids have been unable to reach, according to a comprehensive, rigorous study from the International Renewable Energy Agency.
