Energy Access Investment Forum – Lisbon – March 22-23

The Alliance for Rural Electrification, in partnership with Energias de Portugal (EDP) and the African-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Program (RECP), has the pleasure to invite you to the ARE Energy Access Investment Forum in Lisbon, Portugal on 22-23 March 2017.

The aim of the event is to discuss market conditions, key policy initiatives, business opportunities and showcase financial and technical instruments supporting rural electrification projects in developing and emerging markets.

Please note that tickets are non-refundable and subject to 21% VAT.

The 2017 ARE Annual General Meeting will take place a day ahead of the Summit on 21 March 2017 and is open to all ARE members.
 
 Day 1: ARE Energy Access Investment Summit (22 March 2017)
With a diverse program, the Summit aims to deepen participants’ understanding of policy and finance trends for existing and upcoming rural electrification business and engagement opportunities in developing and emerging markets. It also helps participants to understand where the opportunities lie and how to take advantage of them.
Finally, with representatives from the international and European public and private sector, high level institutions as well as other key stakeholders for the development of business strategies in the decentralised renewable energy sector, the Summit creates a unique networking opportunity for companies, public institutions and NGOs working in off-grid renewable energy markets.

ARE AWARDS 2017 & Young Leaders in Energy Access Award

Participants of the Forum will have the chance to pay tribute to recipients of the ARE AWARDS 2017 and Young Energy Access Leaders Awards.
The ARE AWARDS 2017 will highlight the energy access work done and results achieved by the most passionate and innovative stakeholders and to stimulate the exchange of knowledge. The deadline to submit your applications is the 15th February 2017.
The Young Energy Access Leaders Awards will acknowledge up to five young leaders for their contribution to bring sustainable energy access to Africa. The Energy Access work stream of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) has the pleasure to invite all Young Leaders in Africa and Europe to apply by the 21st February 2017.

 Day 2: B2B Off-grid Matchmaking (23 March 2017)
ARE in cooperation with the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP)will organise a B2B Off-grid Matchmaking event, which will bring together key institutional and business decisions makers and representatives to accelerate business growth in off-grid renewable energy markets.
Through structured B2B and B2Finance sessions, participants are offered the chance to meet their next business partner or financier and to advance existing projects at different stages of maturity.
The event will also feature presentations on the market opportunities in Nigeria, Rwanda and Senegal, brought to you by high-level speakers of the respective local renewable energy associations.
